Powder coating is functional (protective) and decorative finish, that is available in an almost limitless range of colors and textures. The powder coating techniques used at SCI deliver design flexibility with durability across array products.
PROCESS
1. SURFACE PREPARATION
Surface of the substrate must be cleaned and treated to ensure that the part is free of dust, dirt, and debris.
2. COATING APPLICATION
Electrostatic deposition – This application method employs a powder spray booth, powder feeder, electrostatic spray gun, and, depending on the type of gun used, a power unit.
3. HEAT CURING
Parts that are powder coated via ESD must be cured in a powder curing oven. While the cure schedule—the temperature and time that a powder coating must endure in a curing oven to achieve a full cure
