OUR APPROACH

At kick-off, we had a large-scale meeting with all departments to cover the scope of the project in detail and trigger coordination with engineering to initialize shop drawings, purchasing to research solutions to source the uncommon décor and materials specified, and our construction project managers to begin compiling the precise dimensions and details necessary. As the project progressed, continuous communication and coordination was key, as there were many different aspects in motion at once. Installation was also multi-faceted, with several different phases. The hard work and dedication of our management, engineering, purchasing, design, project management, and production teams enabled this massive project to be completed in time and on budget for the grand opening. We would not have been able to complete this project without the help of our customer, architect, and GC working together.

THE CHALLENGE

As a company that revels in creating custom space, we were overjoyed to partner with Drive Shack Inc. on Puttery Chicago, an over-the-top concept designed with opulence, technology, and immersive, playfully competitive entertainment in mind. Offering two distinctly unconventional 9-hole mini golf courses, several bar, dining and lounge areas, a full wall fireplace, host areas needing furniture, custom cabinetry and millwork, storage solutions, ornate décor, high-end upholstery, including several extensive, uniquely curved upholstered banquettes, we knew this project would have many synchronous aspects. To “ace” this project, it would require meticulous and constant communication with our construction project managers and production teams, stringent deadlines, and the care and cooperation of every single department at SCI, all while ensuring the project is completed for the grand opening in October 2022.
