We’re seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team. You’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between design intent and fabrication, ensuring that every project meets our high standards of craftsmanship, functionality, and aesthetics.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed shop drawings and 3D models for custom millwork projects using AutoCAD, Inventor.
- Modify drawings and models from a library of established designs and by studying changes; redrawing requirements; changing identifications as required in order to make drawings ready for production.
- Program a CNC through AutoCAD for onsite fabrication.
- Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and design intent to create accurate fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and production teams to ensure feasibility and efficiency.
- Select and review appropriate materials and hardware on project requirements and confirm accuracy of the product before issuing.
- Conduct site measurements and field verifications when necessary.
- Maintain drawing standards and documentation for internal and client use.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and installation phases.
- Continuously improve design processes and contribute to innovation in millwork engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in millwork, cabinetry, or architectural woodworking design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Construction minded.
- Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience with CNC programming and manufacturing workflows.
